| All types of amateur
performers will be accepted within the following rules: 1. Applications may be requested by mail. All applications must be received by Saturday, August 9th,2008. Please note if you are using any props. 2. Each act must not exceed five (5) minutes. An act that does so will result in a disqualification. Also, once your performance begins, you may not start over. 3. A contestants can perform once in a division see divisions below. The rules for the County Fair Talent show differ from the State Fair Rules in regards to the number of acts a contestant can perform. 4. Your recorded song must be the only song on cassette or CD and must be clearly labeled with name and song title. 5. Contestants using recorded music must deliver the cassette or CD by August 9th in order to test compatibility. 6. A singing contestant’s CD or cassette must only include music. NO VOCALS. 7. Acts are limited to eight (8) performers. 8. Professional conduct is required from each contestant, participant, parent, and teacher. Misconduct may result in a forfeiture of prizes. 9. Contestants and parents are not allowed near judging or sound table during show. 10. Prize checks will be mailed to the contestant whose name appears on the application. These checks must be cashed within 30 days. Please include home address on application
11. This talent show competition is the official preliminary to the State Fair Talent Showcase. To be eligible to compete in the State Fair, contestants must have placed within the top 25 in either mini or maxi categories. Certain acts permitted at County Fairs may not be eligible for the State Fair.
Age divisions are as follows: Maxi Showcase contestants must be age 13 & over Mini Showcase contestants must be age 12 & under The 50% rule will apply. If in a duo, if one contestant is 12 and under and me other is 13 and over, they will compete in the maxi showcase. In a group, if 50% of the group is 13 and over, they will compete in the maxi showcase. Any contestant over the age of 14 is not allowed to compete in the mini showcase.
